Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Kinfocus mobile application ("Kinfocus," "the App"), provided by 1984labs ("we," "us," "our"). By creating an account, pairing a device, or using Kinfocus, you agree to these Terms.

1.What Kinfocus does

Kinfocus helps a caregiver set up medication schedules for one or more dependents, who confirm each dose from a simplified screen on their own device. Kinfocus reminds the dependent, escalates unconfirmed doses, and notifies the caregiver automatically if a dose is missed. Kinfocus is a reminder and tracking tool only — it does not provide medical advice, does not verify the accuracy of the medication information entered, and is not a substitute for professional medical care. You are responsible for the accuracy of the schedules, doses, and medication details you enter.

2.Accounts and pairing

The caregiver needs an account to use Kinfocus, created with an email and password or via Sign in with Apple. A dependent's device joins a caregiver's account using a short pairing code and does not require its own account. The caregiver is responsible for keeping their account credentials secure and for all activity under their account, including who they choose to pair.

3.Medication & health information

Kinfocus lets you store medication names, doses, schedules, and dose-confirmation history for the people you care for. You are responsible for having the right to store this information on their behalf, and for the accuracy of what you enter. In an emergency, or if you have any doubt about a dose, contact a medical professional or emergency services directly — do not rely on Kinfocus alone.

4.Notifications

Reminders and missed-dose alerts depend on the dependent's device having notifications enabled, a working internet connection, and the App installed and signed in. We don't guarantee that a reminder or alert will always be delivered — factors outside our control, such as a device being switched off, offline, or notifications disabled, can prevent delivery.

5.Subscriptions

Kinfocus is available on a monthly or yearly subscription, typically with a free trial, billed and managed through the Apple App Store. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your device's App Store account settings. Refunds are handled according to Apple's own policies, not by us directly. If a subscription lapses, reminders stop prompting the dependent and caregiver alerts stop firing, but no data is deleted.

6.Acceptable use

You agree to use Kinfocus only for its intended, lawful purpose, and not to attempt to reverse-engineer, disrupt, or misuse the App.

7.Intellectual property

All content within Kinfocus, including its design and branding, is owned by us or our licensors and may not be copied or redistributed without permission.

8.Disclaimer of warranties

Kinfocus is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every reminder or alert will be delivered.

9.Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Kinfocus, including any harm arising from a missed, delayed, or undelivered reminder or alert.

10.Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to Kinfocus for any user who violates these Terms.

11.Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of Kinfocus after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12.Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles.
